Why in 2020 Does Our Work Force Still Fall Victim to Phishing Emails?!!
Phishing is a type of security attack that attempts to trick or coerce targets into divulging sensitive/valuable information. Sometimes referred to as a “phishing scam,” attackers target users’ login credentials, financial information (such as credit cards or bank accounts), company data, and anything that could potentially be of value.
Let’s get real!!
In today’s competitive market leaders are measured by how much we can accomplish while driving down costs. This in turn requires staff to take on more work and move faster in order to keep up with the demand. This in turn requires staff across the whole company to be flexible with their workflows, system education, and understanding at the same pace the technology changes. This never happens!!!.
- Most people will resist “Change”
The feeling of being an expert in the old system and a novice in the new makes it hard for people to give up the old ways.
- Employees are moving too fast and making mistakes
It takes only one click on the wrong link and the bad guys are in the network.
- Information Security is viewed in the company as a burden or nuisance
Information Security is Everyone’s Responsibility and this needs to be communicated, educated, and positively reinforced at all levels.
